Map And Compass 2010 Training

Things to bring: Compass, Water, Wide Brimmed Hat, Sunblock, Whistle, small Backpack, Boy Scout Handbook.

Be Prepared

You must read Page 354,360-364 of the Handbook.

This is training for the one mile compass course, and STAR scouts are invited to come and help fulfill their EDGE requirements.

You will be instructed on how to orient a map and compass, map symbols, how to estimate distance and height of objects, and how to follow bearings. Hopefully, we will get enough senior scouts to work one-on-one with the scouts working on requirements.
