Final Pre-Hike Notes

  • Pack Trail food Wisely (salty healthy snacks with high nutritional value – examples – trailmixes, pretzel squares stuffed with peanut butter, salted nuts, dried fruits, PayDay candy bar) Please avoid junk.
  • Keep emergency bar (power bar like Cliff bar) separate from your trail snacks.
  • Pack trail food in convenient small sized zip lock bags for 3 days on trail instead of in one big bag
  • Pack extra bag for last day – Must be in a plastic shopping bag (grocery, Target, Walmart bags) labeled with a masking tape with your name on it. Contents:
    • Fresh set of Change of Clothes
    • Towel
    • Shampoo/Soap
    • Quarters (to operate shower $3 to $5)
  • Camera - optional
  • Scouts think of jokes and songs to share on trail
  • Clip toe nails by Thursday
  • Water proof Boots by Tuesday, March 30, 2010
  • Don’t forget Hiking Sticks
  • No Back pack needed for Wednesday Stair Climb.
  • IMPORTANT – Label all items clearly with your name. This will especially help for hiking sticks, full brim hats, and class B t-shirts (these are all very similar and often get mixed up leading to arguments among the scouts)
  • Missing Items – If you had any missing items please bring them and show it to an adult leader on Wednesday at the stair climb.
  • Remember to bring a Positive and Responsible attitude on the trip to have a very safe, fun and inspiring adventure of your lifetime
