  2. Whistle (worn around the neck on a string available at Sporting Goods Store, Walmart)
  3. Full Brim Hat
  4. Compass (the flat rectangular type with red markings - available at Big 5, Walmart)
  5. Chapstick/Lipbalm
  6. Small first aid pack (bandaid, antiseptic wipe, etc in a small ziploc bag will do)
  7. Flashlight (esp. for Sat. Night)
  8. Sunglasses - optional

  • A big hip pouch can replace the back pack, if the water bottle is worn around the neck. along with the whistle, but I prefer a small back pack, as it helps the scouts to keep their things together.
  • Everything else (clothes, towel, toothbrush/paste, comb/brush, insect repellant, first aid kit, etc) should be packed in a small duffle bag or a large back pack, so the scout can have it with him in his tent.
  • Please ensure that you pack warm clothing. It gets very chilly at night time. Thermal Underwear for just the night will help if you or your scout don't have a good quality sleeping bag. Sweats, beanie and gloves could be very handy at night and early morning hours.
